My 3yo son had an accident falling from the bed and developed black and blue in between his eyes after few days. I decided to see a pediatrician to have my worries settled once and for all. Since it's a Sunday, Our usual pedia is not available, the Clinic is close, so I decided to go to Bernardino General Hospital at Zabarte, Quezon City where I have given birth. The OPD is jam packed, as usual, and we waited almost 4hours before we were called. Finally, it's our turn see the doctor. The Pediatrician, Dr. Galang, wasn't the usual lovable doctor that kids would love. She reminds me of a terror teacher in grade school. She seems full of herself, without even acknowledging the presence of my son, she goes on asking the reason why we came. So I told her it's about my son's bump on the head, how it happen, all my worries etc etc. And she seem irritated by my reason on seeing her, as if we disturbed her for nothing. Well, Hello!!!,The consultation is worth php250 not to mention waiting for our turn almost the whole afternoon. I mean, I am a worried mother, who deserve to hear consoling words other than "the black and blue is just normal, you should know better because your a Physical Therapist" or "you should practice your profession so you would not be paranoid by small things like this" and "practice makes perfect" etc. etc. She is the worst Pediatrician I have ever came to consult. She doesn't have the heart to treat kids, I wonder why she chose that specialization. Well, I will never ever see her again even if she's the last pediatrician in town. My kids deserve a passionate, knowledgeable, sympathetic pediatrician like Dr. Enrico Tan, our usual Pedia. Someone who talks to the kid, acknowledge their presence, do the usual evaluation (which Dr. Galang did not do, she seem lazy to even move on her chair), someone who understand the worries of the parents, someone who adores kids.

I agree with you, my son has been having problems on spitting up. Instead od entertaining my queries as a Mom, she would always insist on her sermon. I hate the fact that she's late and not accomodating at all, it seems as if you she never want to hear any questions.

I bring my younger brother (6 y.o) to check the lumps on his neck and on the side of his stomach.. to make the long story short, tamad nga sya! pag pasok namin ng kwarto ni doc, pinaupo ko ang kapatid ko sa chair malapit kay doc, sabi nya sa kapatid ko 'tayo.' hinili nya ako at sabi ikaw umupo dito. so kapatid ko nakatayo sa harap ko at nakatagilid kay doc. anu sabi nya, anu ipapacheck mo sa anak mo? sabi ko kapatid ko po sya doc. hindi po kasi nawawala lagnat nya ilang araw na tpos may lumps po sya sa neck masakit daw po at sa gilid ng tyan nya, tinuro ko kugn saan, binaba ko ang pantalon at tinaas ang tshirt, tinuturo ko at kita na nya kagad, pero sabi nya hndi pwede turo turo tanggalin mo yung belt at pantalon para makita natin, so tinanggal ko habang nag exxplain ako tpos nung kinakapa nya bigla sya nag hand sign (face palm) at sinabing don't talk let the doctor check it first okay? WHILE I'M TALKING! how rude she really is! in the first place tinanong nya anu nangyare at anu ipapacheckup nung nagpaliwanag ako sinabihan ako ng ganun! nakakaloka! tapos ang dami nya mga sinabi na sermon prang di na nagsync in dahil yung dugo ko umakyat na ulo di ko inexpect na ganung klaseng doctor ang makaka encounter ko. Yung kapatid ko lakad ng lakad sinaway nya sabi umupo ka jan, pointing to the chair in front of her table. nakatitig sya sa kapatid ko na parang terror teacher at di nya tinantanan hanggat di sumusunod. SHE IS INDEED THE WORST PEDIA EVER. kahit gaano ka pa kagaling na doctor if you don't have the heart bali wala. lalo na kung meron ka PERSONALITY DISORDER.

ReplyDeleteSame experienced, nung nanganak din ako sa una ko sya rin ang ginawang Pedia. Umabot kami 1week dahil may problem sa dugo ang anak ko tapos kahit sa pag uwi nalang pinahirapan nya pa ko.Umaga palang nasettle na naming lahat pero gabi nya dinischarge ang anak ko.Worst Pedia talaga kaya sa next baby ko si Dr. De la Cruz na kinuha ko,friendly na accommodating pa

kaya sana gusto ko maya na lng pag out ko at tutal malapit ako sa bernardino gen hos 2 zabarte... tumawag ako at un nga si dr galang dw ang available... tapos ito nagsearch ako at ito bumulaga skn... ako din gusto ko ng doktor na may puso indi pera pera lng... at take note 350 p check up antay ka matagal tapos ganun lng makakausap mo na doktor... indi na lng ako pacheck up ngaun
Papacheck up ko pa nmn sana baby ko kais may sipon kaso ganyan pala yan

ReplyDeleteNung nagvaccine yan sa panganay ko mga 4 or 5 years old na yata that time eldest ko, sya ang available kasi booster na lang kaya di nako namili ng pedia kasi yun lang din available sched ng off ko sa work. Kaya no choice kami. Nung nagwawala anak ko muntik na sya masipa bago turukan sinabihan nya ng punyeta ka! We we're shocked na magasawa pero wala na kaming time makipag argue o ireport sya dahil feeling ko magdedeny lang sya at hahaba lang discussion.. Ngayon 2nd baby ko ang saya ko sa pedia ko si dra. Catherine Roque. Ang bait bait at may connection syang ginagawa sa mga patient nya even sa labas pag nakikita nya kami binabati nya kami pag nagkakasalubong sa grocery store. 😊
ReplyDeleteI guess my experiences with her are far different. She is very accomodating. pinagbbless pa nya mga anak ko and kapag may mga questions even sa mga hindi na related sa anak ko na mga health issues, sinasagot nya ng maayos. People change siguro talaga. Maybe she did changed for the better. 😊
